Discover the Global Influences of the Human Genome Project.

This website is designed for those with a non-scientific background to find a balanced view on several different aspects on the Human Genome Project (HGP) and why it can help us as a society to understand the consequences of human genome research in the world today.

At present, there is much contradicting and confusing information in the media about the HGP. People who are from a non-scientific field of work often gain most of their scientific information from general magazines, television, radio or daily newspapers. These sources usually tell only one side of the story, and it may also even be an incomplete version of it.

Here, you can find different views on what the HGP benefits and why, and a glossary is provided to help you understand the jargon often used by geneticists. Also, there are links to sources for more information on each angle on the HGP, so that those with a specific interest in a particular area can access more advanced reading material.
